Let’s see here, hmmmmmmm. News, news, news…… I updated the site as to become more inline with my New Year’s resolution of updating my website and writing this blog. HOORAY for me!

The rest of my time, at least in the last week, has been spent either working, burning compact discs for the CHOMP WOMP COMPILATION VOL.1, or playing Mario Galaxy. CHOMP WOMP you ask? It is what it is, there’s an explanation, kind of, at chompwomp.com, if you’re curious. I’m not quite sure the website is up yet; it should be up by tomorrow for sure. I do know this link to the digital release of the compilation will work fine and super good better forever. The release show is tonight, so if you somehow read this between now and 10pm CST and you happen to be existing in Lawrence / the KC Metro Area you should come The Jackpot Saloon. After watching the movie Alphaville by Jean-Luc Godard I began thinking about the idea of codifying information. As I began to think about it the first thing which came up in my mind was the idea of meta tagging in blogs. As much as I think meta tagging is an extremely useful thing allowing us to understand immense amounts of information; I can’t help but realize it doesn’t take into account the idea of feelings. Unless you ‘tag’ something as happy or sad or joyous or angry nothing of the feeling comes through. The tone of what the author is feeling hopefully comes through in their writing. But this tone is also very arbitrary. Feelings are very personal and individualized, not capable of being mass consumed.

As for a new system to incorporate feelings and tones… I have no clue. Also, I realize the irony in me tagging this entry.

It’s been forever. No one, more than likely, has even read any of this. But I’m going to attempt to make habit of it and start sharing my small little corner of the world; then it can be our little corner of the world!

So I saw one of the GoogleStreets car driving down Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence. So when they upload all of the pictures and data, you’ll see me staring you down on the southeast corner of 7th and Massachusetts.
